Finance Manager

Job Description

  • The Finance Manager is responsible for all of the organization’s fiscal operating results, utilizing industry standard banking, business and accounting principles.
  • He will ensure proper recording, analyzing and reporting business data to relevant stakeholders for performance management and decision support
  • Prepares, analyses and validates Financial Statements, or aspects of financials, for reasonability and business unit specific reports for accuracy (e.g., fluctuations in revenue, costs, volume) identifying corrective action.
  • Carry out Treasury functions – funds management and investment review.
  • Develops end-to-end technology proficiency and maintain efficient process within the finance team.
  • Ensure all regulatory compliance to properly reflect the financial position and obligation of the organization.
  • Directs accounting department activities; provides leadership, training and supervision within the department; provides a high level of interpersonal relations and service; and assists to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Understands and interprets business issues. Uses business knowledge, process experience, and accounting expertise to plan and meet the corporate scorecard.

What You Will Bring

Experience:

  • 8-10 years’ experience in general accounting, financial performance reporting and analysis.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc or HND or equivalent in Finance, Accounting or other related courses and Professional accountancy qualification e.g. ACA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent.

Analytical skills:

  • Very advanced spreadsheet capability and good knowledge of BI. Strong analytical and communication skills with proactive relationship management.

Additional Considerations:

  • Project management accounting and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of the cooperative business space
  • Demonstrates ability to identify and proactively work to address anomalies. Identifies, analyses, and recommends process improvement and value creation opportunities.
  • Ability to link financial results to detailed business/operational drivers and use business knowledge to support and/or prepare financial forecasts.
  • Digital proficiency and passion for innovation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
