Requirements
Professional certification is an added advantage:

• ACA, ACCA, CIA, or CISA.
• Master’s Degree (MBA or M.Sc.) in relevant fields is an added advantage.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of  5 -10 years (SBO – AM) post-NYSC experience in:
  • Internal Audit
  • Risk Management
  • Internal Control
  • External Audit (Especially in Banking or Financial Services)
• Experience in branch operations or control function within a bank is highly desirable. 
• Hands-on experience with core banking systems (e.g., Finacle) is an added advantage.

Technical Competence. (Strong knowledge of):

• Risk-based auditing techniques.
• Internal control frameworks.
• Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) guidelines and regulatory frameworks.
• Familiarity with audit tools, Excel, and reporting dashboards.

• Ability to identify control weaknesses and recommend corrective actions.

• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to write clear and concise audit reports.
• Good interpersonal skills for engaging with branch and senior staff.

Regulatory Knowledge:

• CBN regulations
• BOFIA (Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act)
• NDIC requirements
• Anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF)
• Tax Regulations – FIRS & LIRS

Technology Proficiency:

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Comfortable using audit management software and data analysis tools.

Cultural & Organizational Fit:

• Willingness to travel frequently to assigned branches across different regions.
• Demonstrates alignment with the core values and ethics of the financial institution.
