Head, Compliance GTPM

Job Summary

The Head of Compliance is responsible for ensuring that the company's operations adhere to relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices. This role involves overseeing compliance activities, monitoring business processes, liaising with regulatory bodies, and ensuring compliance with the Pension Reform Act (PRA) 2014 and other applicable laws. The Head of Compliance also plays a key role in identifying potential risks, ensuring regulatory reporting, and keeping management informed about legislative updates.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with regulations, circulars, and guidelines issued by the National Pension Commission (PenCom) and other regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor the implementation of internal policies and ensure business transactions align with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Implement periodic compliance monitoring and reviews to assess business operations.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly returns to PenCom.

  • Identify and address potential compliance risks within the organization.
  • Monitor adherence to the PRA 2014, Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA), Investments and Securities Act (ISA), and other relevant regulations.
  • Provide guidance to business units on compliance-related matters.

Executive & Strategic Leadership

  • Serve as a key member of the executive committee, ensuring compliance considerations are integrated into strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure management remains informed of regulatory, legislative, and best practice changes that impact the organization.
  • Facilitate the development of risk response strategies and assign ownership for risk management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of a first degree or its equivalent in disciplines such as actuarial sciences, statistics, mathematics, accounting, economics, banking, finance, insurance, law, or business studies.
  • Recognized professional qualification/certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, CPA, or ANAN.
  • At least 10 years of post-qualification experience, with a minimum of 8 years in the financial sector and 4 years in senior management roles.
  • Experience in a Pension Fund Administrator (PFA) or Pension Fund Custodian (PFC) at a senior level is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Senior Risk Officer

Job Summary

He/She will be directly responsible for overseeing the risk management function to identify, measure, assess and mitigate internal and external risks that may hinder the Group from achieving its strategic objectives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Develop and renew policies in a timely manner
  • Oversees the identification and risk mitigation procedures in the Group.
  • Provides guidance to ensure that adequate risk management policies are designed, and well implemented by subsidiaries
  • Oversee monitoring of macro-economic activities that may affect the Group’s business activities, to proactively identify and assess the impact of risks inherent in the Group’s business operations
  • Supervises the collation of risk data across the Group to aid reporting to Management and the Board. This is done weekly, monthly and quarterly. This covers credit risk, market risk, operational risk and other critical risk areas.
  • Develop and implement a standardised risk management framework for the Group.
  • Monitor the compliance of all Business Units /subsidiaries to set limits in line with the approved Risk Acceptance Criteria.
  • Aggregate and consolidate reports from all Business Units and subsidiaries on the various Risk areas to guide internal strategic decisions
  • Monitor and conduct Operational Risk activities within the company

WMS Warehouse Executive

As a WMS Warehouse Executive you willdo the management of receipt, inventory, and storage of all wrapping materials both inbound and outbound. You will ensure that right materials and right quantity are supplied to production via One Day Store. You will understand and fulfil requirements in line with approved SOPs to provide warehouse execution, solutions and standard processes in WMS. Your purpose will be to provide effective co-ordination of all WM functions such as receipts, issues, stock-taking and posting of records into SAP, SAP WM and TaO.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Management of Records in the Warehouse.
  • Maintenance of accurate storage of all company stocks in the warehouse, effective receipts of stock and dispatch to external/internal customers, avoidance of loss, damage or write-offs.
  • Enforcement of compliance with BAT EHS/EMS guidelines in all the warehouse activities (EHS induction training, monthly pulsar target, monthly warehouse rack inspection is done).
  • Ensure Nil stock-out on all materials supplied production at any point in time, close monitoring of all materials within the stipulated shelf-life, reduction in truck demurrage cost due to waiting time in the factory, as well as ensure that the method of First-In First-Out (FIFO)  & FEFO is rigorously adhered to.
  • Conduct monthly stock take with finance, quarterly Sox stock and reconciliation for all WM warehouses (Internal and external Warehouses) and weekly Batch handled WM materials shelf-life report status to management and planning team to avoid material expiration in house without being used.

What are we looking for?

  • Higher National Diploma in any numerical of financial courses with sound knowledge of SAP systems and Microsoft Excel are required.
  • Experience in an FMCG handling large number of SKUs preferably with a manufacturing organisation sufficient to demonstrate understanding of products.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the warehousing processes, sound analytical skills and proficiency to work with figures are required.
  • Good inter-personal skills and ability to operate across all hierarchy levels, providing information and support as required.
  • Ability to multi-task,  prioritize workloads, work independently, deliver according to defined deadlines and work well under pressure.

Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that all making machines on the floor runs optimally and consistently all the time.
  • Develop database of tracking spares consumption and ensure that there is availability of necessary spares to keep making machine running all the time thereby reducing downtime associated with stock out of spares.
  • Support in deploying sound maintenance practices, ensuring that inventory is maintained at a very low level, product quality and waste is at the right standards.
  • Lead and attend to all maker Projects and NPI and deliver all related initiatives.
  • Lead all maker training and assessment for both operators and technician and also involved in the technical coaching & development of maker technicians.
  • Work with Maintenance Leads and other stake holders to provide innovative solution to all making Machine problems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Engineering Degree or HND is required with 2nd class upper or upper credit respectively – mandatory.
  • At least 5 years of experience in running and maintaining cigarette making machines – mandatory.
  • Good IWS knowledge.
  • Strong technical and maintenance skills.
  • Communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.

Equipment Operator/Technician

The Equipment Operator/Technician will ensure production processes management and control over quality of manufactured products within a Making or/and Packing Machine.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure machine availability to meet set target for machine uptime
  • Monitor all raw materials required for manufacturing activities and ensure that the right materials are used all the time in the manufacturing of cigarettes
  • Ensure adherence to all procedures and work instructions
  • Propose, execute, and document improvements to eliminate losses
  • Eliminate Root Cause of any outages relative to your equipment
  • Uses UPS tools (6W2H, Why-Why) for chronic stops to ELIMINATE them

What are we looking for?

  • Knowledge of any manufacturing environment with at least 3 years’ experience in a production environment - mandatory
  • National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelors of Science/Engineering - mandatory
  • Strong technical and maintenance skills
  • Communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
